The winners of Direct Industry’s i-NOVO Awards at SPS  IPC Drives 2015 have been elected. SIKO’s new wire-actuated sensor SGH10 won the i-Novo Tech Award 2015.

The SGH10 is a measuring system for direct stroke measurement in the hydraulic cylinder. The cylinder stroke is measured precisely using wire-actuated encoder technology, which is installed directly in the cylinder. What is new about this sensor is that, in contrast to the solutions already on the market, which measure the position using a measuring rod (magneto-restrictive, hall-based or inductive) and a positioning magnet, hollow drilling of the piston is unnecessary. The benefits are obvious. No weakening of the piston, significantly more cost-effective integration costs compared to other measuring systems and, for the first time, a measuring system that can be used in a telescopic cylinder.
